Defending Religious Freedom


Whether you have a need for legal advice or just want to keep up-to-date on the latest issues, the following organizations are excellent resources and provide top-notch information and legal services. Some organizations offer free legal aid if you qualify.

American Center for Law and Justice
ACLJ is a non-profit public interest law firm and educational organization dedicated to defending religious rights in school, in the workplace and in everyday life. Very good!

Alliance Defense Fund
Funds the legal defense and advocacy of religious freedom, the sanctity of human life, and family values.

Family Research Council
Court watch, court briefs, legal facts, judicial activism. A nonprofit, nonpartisan educational organization that exists to reaffirm and promote the traditional family unit and the Judeo-Christian value system upon which or country was built. .

Liberty Council
Liberty Counsel is a nonprofit civil liberties education and legal defense organization providing education and pro bono legal representation. Their goal is to restoring the culture one case at a time by advancing religious freedom, the sanctity of human life and the traditional family.

Eagle Forum
An excellent organization whose legal department is dedicated to the following: raising public awareness about unconstitutional court decisions by activist judges; lobbying Senators to reject activist judges nominations; holding members of Congress accountable for their votes on court issues; and gathering information from the public about bad prospective court nominees so they can be stopped early in the confirmation process. Also provides court briefs, judicial nominations and how they ruled.

Center for Individual Rights
A nonprofit public interest law firm dedicated to the defense of individual rights, with particular emphasis on civil rights, freedom of speech, the free exercise of religion, and sexual harassment law. Provides information on recently adjudicated cases, press releases and active court cases.

National Right to Work
A nonprofit organization providing free legal aid nationwide to thousands of employees whose human and civil rights have been violated by compulsory union dues.

Washington Legal Foundation
Defends and promotes the principles of free enterprise and individual rights. WLF has developed into one of the nation's preeminent centers for public interest law­advocating free-enterprise principles, limited government, property rights, and reform of the civil and criminal justice system.

Judicial Watch
A non-partisan, nonprofit conservative foundation based in Washington, D.C., is an ethical and legal "watchdog" over our government and judicial systems to promote needed political and legal reform.

Landmark Legal Foundation
A national public interest law firm headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri with offices in Washington, DC, Landmark's mission is to use the law to advance conservative principles and policies through the judicial system, government and public forums.
